I lived there for 20 years and thought those signs were the minimum speed.

Need some help with this photo of a Taurus 1911. Can anybody tell me what year or model this one is ? A club member has it for sale, and didn't have too much info to go along with it.

He is selling it for $425 (flexible). He claims there are only about 75 rounds thru it. I appears to be in nice shape. Whadauthink? (might make a good starter 1911?, for a rookie like me)

OM, I'm still at 2mph under the minimum speed limit.

From looking at their website looks like it may be a model 1911B, can't be to old because Taurus has only been making them for a few years. MSTP new was a little over $700.00. It may be the same model Greener has, he will be around sooner or later and verify that. What is minimum expressway speed in Michigan anyway, rarely use them go fast road. Being retired Ma and I take the back roads and see the countryside, my Garmin will always get me anyplace I want to go. If minimum is 55 you are only a couple years older than my oldest son, if it's 45, my youngest daughter is older than you.

Minimum is 55mph. I'm minus 2years from that. You talk about your eyes going, tell me about it, I have to wear clip-on bifocals from bass pro shop to bring the front sight into focus. I don't think the gun is this years model, it might be 2-3 years old. Are the ones 2-3 years old just as good as the newer ones?

The picture looks like the Taurus hasn't been out of the box very often. I think $400 or so is a pretty good price. I've been pleased with mine. If it doesn't have any obvious wear it looks like a reasonable price.
That model has the Heine or figure 8 sights. One dot on the rear sight and one on the front, instead of the 3-dot sights you see on most guns. Some folks don't like them. I think they work just fine.
If you are seriously thinking about it, go to
www.taurus-armed.net. They have a PT1911 section and a Taurus complaint section. You can weed out the "best 1911 ever made" and "worst 1911 ever made" threads and get a pretty good idea about the pistol.

I know Rob, if someone offered it to you or I at that price and it looked that god, even though we really do not need it, we would be th new owner.
Oooooops, I forgot, we always need another gun.

I just talked with the guy whose selling it, and I am gonna meet him at the club range to shoot it at about 2:30ish. He said it was a July 2007 model that he bought in 2008. He said he also had a trigger job done on it and, I forget what, but one other upgrade to it? Again, he claims only 75 rds thru it, and I feel he is quite honest about it. If it is what he says it is, I'll prob buy it, I don't think I could go wrong for $400 bucks. He said he paid $550 for it. Then the upgrades.
A couple questions:
1) Do all taurus PT 1911's have "match grade" barrel/bushings on them?
2) I think it's true, but does Taurus honor "lifetime" warranties on 2nd owners?

I can't imagine why he would have a trigger job on the Taurus, but it should make a good trigger better. The Taurus has a match grade barrel. They have a lifetime warranty and reviews of customer service is mixed.

OM,
"Here it is"..........I finally stopped talking about it, and actually bought this. I shot 50 rounds thru it flawlessly, and accuately. I have to say, if it continues to shoot like this, I'll be more than happy. One issue, I don't think the previous owner sent in the warranty card? He purchased it at Gander Mountain, who, I think might send the warranty in for you? I just wnat to make sure the lifetime warranty is still good. By the way, we agreed to $400 sale. My hopes is that it will be a good shooter for the price, and I really didn't want to spend anywheres's up to a $1000 or more. If it breaks, I'll just get it fixed. I hope it's just a bunch of b.s. pertaining to the quality.
The complete set

Not the best picture.

those are spent soldiers in the box!(could someone tell me what the black plastic device is used for

)
