Not really sure but it worked for him. 2 year as a homiide detective on the Feeeeetroit PD, involved in over 10 shootings and he can still walk, talk andd shoot and carry 3 guns at all times.Hakaman wrote:That's how I feel OM, I didn't buy it for target shooting, I bought it for summer carry(and winter as well). I the target is 20ft away I am sure going to hit COM. Filling the bullseye of a target, I most likely can't. I pumped 100rds thru it today and she purred like a kitten, but can bite like a dog. BTW, what does "two minutes of felon" mean?A carry gun is not meant to shoot targets, the only accuracy you need as my mentor always said, Two minutes of felon is good enough![]()

I wasn't asking about bullseye scores with it, I was just wondering how it did at the range.A carry gun is not meant to shoot targets,
That does the job, All I demand from a carry pistol is the ability to get good COM shots on a small silhouette sighted at 7-10 yards, and point-shooting 5 yards.I the target is 20ft away I am sure going to hit COM.
Anything beyond that is a pleasant bonus.
The ability to put the full load into a paper plate or a sheet if typing paper at 20' is plenty good enough. I keep trying to do better than that with my 442 and other defense guns. Figure the better I shoot it under relaxed conditions, the better I'll be with an adrenaline rush and pulse pushing 150.
Get into Hawaiian shirts for summer. Big floppy over the belt shirt will hid a fair size pistol.Hakaman wrote:I also shot a S&W model 638 today tha a guy had at the range. It was a 38sp+ . It's a nice pocket gun as well. Probably about the same shoot & carry capabilities as my Kahr. In the summer time, it's tough to conceal and carry a larger hg.

I've been carrying a 442 lately. Fits nicely in a pocket holster with no outline, so it goes into jeans, slacks and shorts pretty well. Not the easiest guns to shoot at 15 yards, but it will do nicely at the shorter ranges.
Been looking at the Kahr's. Look like nice pistols.

My normal attire for us old retired guys, jeans and a T shirt with something printed on it, just do not like the plain ones. Of course not tucked in so it pretty well covers the SA Micro in my right hip pocket holster, then the P3AT in my left front pocket for backup use. Have never had a problem, most people do not even know ther is a gun on my person. Was at a shop the other day of a friend and this expert as telling us all about gun laws and where you can and cannot carry and how had it is to conceal, told him as we stood there if it is that hard t conceal did you know I have this???? big eyes.

I cycled another 50 rds thru the PM9 yesterdie and, again, w/o any failures. My friend chose to not shoot the gun because he said the recoil hurt too much. I think it has decent recoil, but not overly excessive, just what I expect from a gun that size. I have carried this gun in my pocket and on a Galco "Stinger belt holster", both of which feel very comfortable to the point I forget it's there.

I'll still stick to my .22 Bobcat. Can't get any smaller except the pocket derringer types. Won't get lighter than 15 oz. loaded. Twenty-two gets me lots of cheap practice for good familiarity and shot placement. And my two (yes, two) Bobcats have proven to be as reliable as my Ruger Mark III so long as they're clean.
A good .22LR round is possibly better than .25ACP at 15 feet, and about equal to .32. So at short defensive ranges, I don't feel naked with a .22. In metric, it comes out to 5.65 mm. That sounds more effective, doesn't it?
I might have went .380 if you could ever find the ammo. The Micro Desert Eagle would be my first choice there. I love Rugers, but not polymer, so no LCP for me. They ever do it in 100% stainless, they got me.
The first rule in a gunfight is to bring a gun. For that matter, the first rule in a fist or knife fight is to bring a gun. Usually settles those instantly
. The smallest possible gun gives no excuse for leaving it in the car or the house, so I'm good there. If I ever have to nail a Bad Person, I'll just have to empty the mag.

I wouldn't feel that undergunned with a .22, but the only one I have that's small enough (the P22) is a bit deficient on the reliability factor.
I haven't found my full-size guns all that hard to carry concealed. Just have to wear one of my large outside the belt shirts. Lately, my carry has been an S&W 442. Fits easily in my pocket and with a pocket holster, its very hard to tell I have one.

When you carry gun all of the time, you learn to dress a little different. Most new gun toters are very self conscious and want to dress like they did before, you have to adapt.greener wrote:
