All kidding aside, the CW45 would be a strong consideration for my SD gun because of it's light weight, fire power, quality, and great handling. JMO. I would also consider a 38 revolver.
Haka

ps.......I think my avatar is carrying a 38sp revolver.

I've had four SP101s, five S&W J Frame, & a Dan Wesson 15-2 with the 2 1/2" snubbie barrel & any one of them would work for your needs..
I also thing any K frame Smith with the right length barrel would also fill the bill..
Good Luck in your Quest!!

I'm in my 70s and I carry a Smith 649 in 357. Lot of oommmph there but both the weight and the ergonomics of the gun soak it up. I have trouble carrying a firearm that weighs much more than this. Hurts my hip. I carry Winchester 125 grainers in it and practice a lot and feel adequately armed.

Welcome to the forum, BudE.

The 649 is an excellent choice for a snubbie .357 carry. Has the advantage of enough heft to make it more of a pleasure to shoot than the airweights.

Spinal arthritis woke me up and I was just waiting for the ibuprofen to kick in.

You have a ways to go until you get there. You're doing okay in my book!

When you're really old, you get promoted from Loquacious Olde Pharte, to Ancient Olde Codger.........

When you admit it, and give in to it. I hope I never do. That's my plan, anyway.

I had a grandmother who was always deciding she was "too old for this", or "too old for that". That attitude made her old in a hurry.

You are only as old as you feel.....

My mind thinks I'm 35 but my body thinks something else. :D
