I guess some points I intended to make are:
1) Personally, I do not feel comfortable carrying my hg with a bullet in the chamber. I have received a lot of flack over this. Basically, "to each their own". I guess I'll take my chances.
2) I don't trust a 1911 safety. It's too big and can easily get reset to the firing position, IMO. It is a great gun, 45acp will get the job done though. I carry it unchambered 90% of time. Other 10 % of time, when I sense the need.
3) Many people talk a good game (seriously, not referring to anybody here), but when push comes to shove, would crap their pants in a SD situation, run and hide, and be over run with adrenalin to a point where they could not function responsibly.
4)I read posts from various forums on how and what people would do in a SD situation, like they have done it a 1001 times before, talking bravely, and disregarding how sacred life really is. They don't consider the consequences of what it's like to take a life, but sure blab alot.
5) I do carry, and feel the need to carry, but also have a tremendous sense of responsibility for the seriousness of this freedom.
6) I don't think anybody can say what they would "actually" do in those High Stress situations until it actually happened.
7) Like most in here say, It is good to be prepared with practice exercises.

My philosophy: "The good lord will take care of me". If it's my turn to go, well, so be it.
9) Finally, these opinions are my opinions, and I accept other people's rights to their opinions.
