picked up some new rounds for the wheel gun ,for carry purposes.... its the new federal hydroshock loads the 110 gr low recoil personal defense rounds......I realy like the idea of their design ......less colateral damage I believe was the wording ......I never been a big believe in Magnums for carry .........yes I want to stop the bad guy but I dont want any pass thru's ethier ..........the guys at the gun shop have shot some into wet phone books and the weight retention and expansion are excellent ....Ive shot 12 rounds out of my model 65 3 inch and the hit piont of aim at 25 ft .....and I believe my wife can handle these as well ....she very reciol sensitive ....anybody have any experence with these ?

That's the same reason I shoot the New Hornady Critical Defense rounds in my guns...

I got the Hornady Critical Defense 9mm in my Kahr PM9. Watch this video, it is informative.

FWIW, it's Hornady Critical Defense that I have in my S&W 686 .357 and my speedloaders. Haven't quite reached a conclusion yet on the M1911 however due to feeding concerns.

To be perfectly honest with you keithj, I haven't devoted enough time experimenting with different HP's to come to a firm conclusion yet regarding reliability. I've only shot hardball for the most part in breaking in my Kimber so it's my fault really. It's a Super Match II. I would go with the Hornady Critical Defense 185 gr me thinks if they work. I've been a programmer for 28 yrs now and am currently unemployed so while I have the time, resources are somewhat on the lean side and them personal defense bullets ain't cheap. BTW...I love my .45... Great pistol and caliber. No regrets. Take care...and behave yourself.
