Are we talking P 1935. Does your extractor look like the one in this breakdown, 1911 style?

If it is then Marstar has them. http://www.marstar.ca/b35.htm

Thanks again Bulleye. My friend took the gun to a local gunsmith. The smith told him the parts are not made any more and it couldn't be repair.

My buddy really likes the gun and he sure is happy since I passed the info on to him.

Thanks, Don

Your friend's local smith was right, the parts aren't made any more but a few companies (like Marstar) bought up all the remaining parts stocks from Browning and still have them for sale. That extractor isn't cheap, $39 Canadian (which is $34.66 US today) but that beats the alternative of nothing. Prices like that are what happen when parts are down to a single source, they got the market.

He should order one right away, I don't know what their remaining inventory level is at Marstar.

That extractor is taken out of the slide just like it would be on a 1911.

Hope this helps.

Here's another one of those companies who've sucked up the old highpower parts. http://www.sarcoinc.com/bhp.html The also have a good inventory of newer FM-HP parts.

Those 2 parts houses were out of stock.

The local gunsmith who come to our range had a used one in his box. He installed it for $20 and now it works just fine.

Thanks again for your help.

That was very fortunate for you. Not many people just happen to have one of those types of extractors laying around in the toolbox. Saved you some mega cash. Did you buy a lottery ticket that day? :D
