I've been looking at the New Mossberg AR their "MMR". I was checking out the Hunter model a 20" flattop with a funky free float tube. Price was $799. Has anyone had ay experience with their new AR line yet?
the rifle looked like it was nicely put together with a tight reciever fit, and a good trigger. that funky handguard felt REALLY dang nice in the hand too...

AR style rifle are just plain fun to shoot. The hand rail is for two things(maybe more)
1) mounting optics
2) comfort
c) cool looks

One other consideration about that front hand guard is it acts as a "free float" tube for the barrel.

Haka & Bullseye, true on all four points, I think I like how thin the fore end is comapred to a lot of other tubes. I think some slots milled into it would take the weight down to 7lbs even and make it a very handy rifle for a 20" bbl
