I have a tendency to try new things and this often leads to my losing direction.

I've been shooting a lot of PPC during the winters (indoors) in Michigan.

shooting a built up S&W 10-5 I happened to try some "retro" loadings.

Since the Remington 148 gr HBWC is impossible to find, and the old star is long gone, I tried some Magnus 148 gr HBWC over 2.7 gr Bullseye. Yeah, that old dirty powder from the previous, previous century lol.

This is 18 rounds from an old Lee Pistol rest at 25 yards. It saves me the trouble of 5 shot groups..

sometimes it's nice to go home again..

My shooting bud and I have used a similar bullet in both lever action 1894C
Marlin and and a Ruger and a Smith revolver, The bullets are a HBWC of 10 Brinell lead and 2.3 grains of Trail Boss powder. They are great at 25 yard but we have not been able to get them on the target backer at 50 yds, They must get very unstable beyond 25 and who knows where they go?

You should try some WST for the 45acp. It burns a 100x cleaner than BE.

Using a reset is the only way to check a load. A Ransom would be ideal.

I love the Model 10, thats one if the best revolvers I've shot. the old standard 148gr wc load with BE is hard to beat too!
