addressing small rust pit marks on rifle receiver

I have a Ruger No.1A rifle in unfired condition that I recently acquirred at a very reasonable price. It has beautiful wood and is in a caliber that I have been looking for (7 x 57). The only fault is a slight rust pitting where the stock wood interfaces with the receiver. That's why I got it at a low price. Is there any way I can make this less obvious other than having the entire receiver re-blued?

you could try some oil and fine steel wool and lightly buff them out...

I use the oil and #0000 steel wool method too.

A pink pencil eraser also works well on light rust, followed by oil wipe.
