Yes, many folks have built these boxes. I have intentionally left the internal configuration vague, so the builder can choose how to best meet their pistol carrying needs. A set of hardwood pegs, set-up on a screw clamp configuration, works well for holding pistols in place. A builder can either use a tray configuration or a partitioned one to best store their pistols. Today's preference for scope mounted pistols requires a taller clearance, and the bottom partition style pistol box has more vertical room for these scoped style pistols.
