10/22 swivels on synthetic stock?
I'm debating an All-Weather 10/22 in the future. Does anyone have experience putting sling swivels on one? I've done swivels on wood stocks okay. I know some synthetic stocks are hollow where the swivels need to go, making it a headache. And, I would prefer a swivel on the forearm instead of the unfortunately plastic barrel band.
Also, anyone know of a true stainless swivel besides the Talon brand? I have found several that are just nickel plated.

Nobody here knows anything about Ruger's 10/22 synthetic stock? I've had lots of readers but no replies to my above post. I suppose I'll email Ruger and see what they can tell me.
I'm swaying more toward the 10/22 Sporter. anyway........
The walnut is sure prettier than plastic, and already has swivels on it.

Ruger emailed back that the synthetic stock was not designed for use with swivels. Simple enough.
I can't do a rifle without a sling, so the walnut Sporter it will be. I have a strong suspicion that Santa is bringing me one, anyway............

Good point, so I would roughen the inside, try several types of glue such as instant glue, epoxy, black locktite (brownells) etc and hopefully you can get one that sticks.
Make sure you clean the inside with acetone or lacquer thinner before roughing.
Also after the swivel screw is attached it will probably stay in place.
Anyway these are what I would try--good luck

Here's a thread @ RimfireCentral that covers the hollow factory synthetic stock & some pics of what one guy did to make sling swivels work on it.
