How do you like the Fastfire?

Hello recumbent! I always value your posts. My old eyes really love the red dots and I wanted to try the Fast Fire because it doesn't overwhelm the top of this 4" barrel Buck Mark, and is light at 3 oz. It can be had at less than $170 with the picatinny/weaver mount. You can also get dovetail mounts for 1911,Kimber,Beretta,Glock,Sig,Ruger,so, you have some flexibility. It has an Off/On switch, and can also be put in a sleep mode by slipping on the cover. I'm still working on the original 2032 after six months of use. The dot is auto adjusting for light conditions and works well from dark to bright Texas sun. The dot size(4 moa) is about right for pistol distances. It is really easy to zero(unlike some), and holds zero. Pop bottle caps from 10' to 15 yds are quick and easy. Hope this helps, if, I missed anything let me know and I'll do my best. Regards

Silencerresearch.com is good too. If your in Ga., your good to go for a suppressor. Once you start shooting suppressed its addicting because its so much fun (you can hear the bullets hit and of course no earplugs).
You gotta pay a 200.00 tax and you can go with a Living Trust, a Corp., or Individual Ownership (which requires a LEO or Judge/Prosecutor sign off and pics+fingerprints).
I went with the Trust because I wanted my Wife to have unsupervised access to the NFA items while I was gone. With the Individual Ownership route, only YOU can have ACCESS. Only YOU can have the combo to the safe or gun vault. Also, I have a problem with asking some LEO if he'll pretty-please sign, so that I can fully exercise my INALIENABLE RIGHTS as an American Citizen. PM me if you want more info.
Nice Pistols Shadow9 and Kaz! Fastfire= good. I have a Docter on my Uzi SMG and I think the FF are better because of the on/off switch. I do like the 7MOA Dot on my Docter for CQB type stuff. The 4MOA dot on the FF would be perfect on a handgun-better than I can hold offhand, thats for sure. Cover only half a squirrel's head at 25yrd.

Nice looking pistol. About the only thing I'd suggest is taking that Mark II front sight post off and replacing it with one from a Mark III. The Mark III version doesn't have an under cut front sight post and is less likely to snag on anything, especially if you're using it with a holster.

I've had the fiber optic dots before and I couldn't shoot them all that well. I don't think I gave them enough time to be fair though. You can see them really well though. I think that if you practiced with them they would be a good thing for squirrel hunting, or a defence situation in marginal to poor light (unlike a tritium sight they do need some ambient light to work). These sights would also be good for people over age 45 that have trouble with a patridge sight in anything but optimal conditions. Just be aware that they are really different, so you'll have to get used to them and that they are not the best for target precision shooting like a proper partridge sight.

Truthfully the fiber optics aren't for everyone and take some getting used to before most folks begin to like them. Many people I see generally are swapping out their fiber optic sights back over to the traditional iron sights.
