I'm getting ready to buy a MKIII and a Tac-Sol Threaded Upper so I can mount my Spectre Suppressor and I just wanted to thank everybody on this site first for all the knowledge that I have gained here on the Ruger .22 Pistol platform.
Secondly, I wanted to run the modifications by you folks, to see if I missed anything. I'm getting the pistol and the upper from Paul Zint who is also a smith. I told him I wanted a Clark Oversized hammer Bushing and Pin, which will dissable the goofy mag safety. Also to give me a VQ Sear, Extractor, and a Bolt release. I like the stock Ruger Trigger. It feels good in my hand, so I want to keep it in the gun. Should I have him put a overtravel screw in it as well? I hoping to end up with a 2-3lb. trigger. I don't want a trigger that's too light as I plan to hunt with the pistol and actually carry it while in the woods. Also, I shoot a lot of HK squeeze cockers and they have a light trigger, but with a lot of creep-same with my SIG 228's. I don't want to get used to a real match style trigger that breaks like glass.
Thank you for the advice.

Welcome to Guntalk-Online Johnny!
Sounds like you have the basics covered for a nice trigger pull. I think what you mean is to install a pretravel screw. The stock ruger trigger has a overtravel screw in it already. The OT screw is internal of the frame on the front face of the trigger block. You have to remove the trigger to adjust it. A pretravel screw goes on the same face just below the trigger pivot pin. It will take up all that useless trigger travel before the sear is engaged by the trigger. Here's a link to see how to install one. http://www.guntalk-online.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=651
You shouldn't have any problem getting a 2 lb trigger with the VQ sear installation. In the end you have a nice trigger.
