Standard trigger removal - HELP

I have a new VQ trigger to install in my Standard. I am down to the step of removing the A34-1 'E' clip that holds the trigger pivot pin in place. What is the secret to sliding that clip off???

I did one recently for a friend. I think I put a small instrument (can't remember what?) under the bottom of it a pried up. It removed it all right

. That e clip went flying never to be found again, LOL. I had to go to the hardware store and buy a new one. You may want to put a magnet above it as you pry it up. That ought to prevent the loss.

I spin the E clip around so the open end is up and then push it off of the trigger pivot pin into the frame. This method keeps the clip from launching to oblivion when removed.

That was all I could come up with as well. Finally got the magic position and as you said, it popped out. found it though, landed on my work mat. Trying to get it back together now. Working on getting the hammer position right over the sear. Got to go find the photos. Thanks, TB

I use a magnetic work mat for containing those little parts that want to wander away.

For a super low dough magnetic mat... go to a sign shop and ask them to save a "goofed" magnetic door sign and you are good to roll (or in this case, NOT ROLL).

That is a super idea. I was about to ask where do you buy magnetic work mats? I got the bugger put together and the little allen screws screwed. Really feels neat. Now I have to go try it out.

I think I am going to have to buy one for the Buck Marks next.

Craftsman tools has a magnetic tool mat for about $15.
