MK II about 25 yrs. old...what to look for in used?

Trying to help a friend evaluate a used MK II, 7.5" bull barrel, blued, VQ grips, but factory trigger and probably factory sear.
I shot the gun and held the black at 25 yards, some 10's and a 9.
The cheap Federal high velocity cycled fine. Remington standard cycled fine. However, some CCI standard had a feed problem once, then one didn't go bang and we had to put a brass rod down to get the round out.
Also I noticed that I could not really feed in empty brass all the way, for fear it would get stuck in there, and this is almost never a problem with my MK III.
All in all I put about 50 rounds through, will put a few hundred through tomorrow of whatever I can find.
Basically I think this pistol is fine except as compared to a MK III, the chamber tolerance is tighter so potentially my friend could run across certain ammo that the gun might not like. Maybe this is normal for a MK II, that is what I am asking. I could see where if he doesn't keep the chamber mouth clean and/or the brass is just a little wide or expands too much, he might get a jam. Also the extractor seems very loose, but I am used to my VQ extractor now, which could also alleviate some problems he might have with the tighter barrel mouth.
I am going to shoot the pistol a little more and see. Also it is appropriate to ask about price on the forum?
I should also mention the shooter is new to bullseye.
