Mark III Hunter On Way Back from Ruger
After only 7 business days, Ruger is sending back my Mark III Hunter. I must admit Ruger customer service proved to be incredibly responsive. I think it was important that I called them to ask for prioritization of my servicing since the gun is new. I will follow up with a range report once I receive the gun. As some may recall, I was the guy with the Hunter from hell with the gun having tons of ejection issues due to an apparent combination of magazine positioning and extractor problems.

I believe according to UPS and FedX regulation all hand guns must b shipped overnight and only an FFL can shiip by USPS.Adam67 wrote:Mine is at Ruger right now. I sent in my Mark III competition target (new) for a dented chamber (from the firing pin). They sent out a UPS label to get it and I noticed it was for overnight shipping!

I called them back and was very polite and explained my situation. She said she would see what she could do. Got a call back about 30 minutes later saying they would move my gun up to the front of the linerecumbent wrote:You now have the "Perfect" excuse to buy another pistol......Adam67 wrote:Well now I'm not so happy......they just told me 6-8 weeks!!!
I'm a bullseye shooter and that is my only gun! Not happy.

My Hunter arrived in the mail back from Ruger. There is a note on a form that says "Ejector Repaired". It looks to me that it is possible that they lowered the magazine position by a tiny amount. Theoretically that should be enough to prevent spent cases from hitting the rear magazine lip. However, testing with a spent case by retracting it manually with the magazine loaded still resulted in the spent case hitting the rear magazine lip (instead of the ejector) so I am skeptical at the moment. If Ruger's repair doesn't work I'll just take Bullseye's advise and grind down the magazine lip. I'm hoping to test the gun out tomorrow.

Moving the bolt slowly by hand will not really duplicte the action of live fire. Take it to the range and give it a good workout of a couple hundred rounds or so, and enjoy the testing.ecdoesit wrote:My Hunter arrived in the mail back from Ruger.
