VQ trigger spring plunger not heat treated?

I guess Volquartsen didn't heat treat it at all. Even if they just heat treated it poorly that should have been enough to protect it from the less than 4lbs of pressure the disconnector puts on it.
In your experience is it common practice for VQ to not heat treat it?

If this is uncommon do you think it's worth it to call VQ and ask them to replace it? Or should I just put the factory plunger back in?

I guess the only thing it can really effect is slightly altering my trigger adjustment, but just wanted to get other opinions (mine usually aren't that good :P ).

This is not normal. VQ occasionally has manufacturing defects in the production of their aftermarket components. But their customer service is top notch and they've always stood behind their products in my experience. Call or e-mail Nic Volquartsen and he will personally take care of it for you. It is worth the call so they can check their stock, identify the defective parts, and pull defects from their stock.

In the mean time you could reinstall your factory retrograde plunger in the VQ trigger.
