Ultimate Clip Loader

Post by Lone Wolf » Sat Mar 29, 2008 2:22 pm

After hunting sage rats for several years using a rifle I've decided to challenge myself and use a Ruger MK III pistol this year.

One pistol is topped with a Leupold 2x scope and the other uses a Burris red dot type sight.

After sighting in both guns I decided I needed a fast way to load my magazines.

I ordered an Ultimate Clip Loader after seeing it demonstrated on You Tube.

I have mixed feelings about this unit since I'm not able to load a magazine quickly as shown on the You Tube spot. Instead I need to "pump" the magazine up and down which loads one round at a time.

The good news is that it's still faster than hand loading each round individually and it doesn't leave you with a sore thumb.

If there's a secret to loading the MK III magazines quickly I'd be interested in knowing it. I've seen the video and read the instructions and it's not happening for me.

Thanks - Wayne.

Have used one for year, and have had the best luck by spraying the ammo with Ace Silicone spray, and letting the solvent dry off before using the ammo. It is a dry silicon after the carrier evaporates, and if you hold the loader at the right angle it just seem to get sucked down int the mag.
You have great day and shoot straight and may the Good Lord smile on you.

I initially has problems with my UCL. After spraying a very small amount of Rem oil, as recommended by McFadden, the cartridges slid into the magazine easily. You may have to fine tune the adjustment screw to get the top of he magazine to line up properly and be able to load 10 rounds each time. I'm impressed how well the UCL makes loading magazines a breeze.

I just spray some silicone inside the Ultimate before I use it. Works like advertised. I am very happy with mine.
