I know this has been kicked around in the past, but I couldn't get anything from a search soooooo I'll ask again...
Has anyone used the loader with MK III 22/45 magazines, and if so, how well do they work....

I do not have a UCL but I saw this just today on RFC http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/sh ... p?t=189787
The people there say it works fine with Mark III magazines, including the 22/45 version mag body. There are folks here that have them perhaps one of them will also chime in and confirm its use too.

I bought one several weeks ago and I love it. My wife even enjoys using it. I have found out though that if I adjust it for the MKIII mags for a full 10round feed, then my MKII mags will only feed 9 rounds. They also need to put a warning in with it also stating that owning this device will drastically increase you .22 consumption.

I purchased a mag loader on eBay about 6 months ago that serves me well and fits Mark I, II and III. It is very simple in design and cost $9.99 + $1.95 shipping.

I have mine on Order.... I ordered directly from the manufacturer, at what appears to be a very good price.
I had sent them an E-mail and got a reply in a day... I decided to order and called them... They answered the phone and took the order immediately. ( Nice to be able to understand who you are talking to!!!

I've been loading Ruger magazines (an a lot of others) for a long time... I never felt the need for help, but that was probably because I was in the habit of loading 5 rounds per magazine... I just shoot for the fun of it now, but am still loading 5 rounds at a time.
This loader will be a new experience

I contacted Midwayusa about handling the UCL. Their response was encouraging.
The old stand by made by Butler Creek is no longer being offered. I used to pick them up at gun shows for about a buck. They were usually around 2.95 last i saw them online.
Here's some others:

Red one is an HKS
The Thumbsaver is the BC
The more elaborate one is a Wilson.
The other is the Mini Loader"
I keep one on a tether.
Don't leave home without one!

$21.95 http://zaliznockindustries.com/outdoors.htm
If midway did start carrying them I doubt they would be as cheap as $21.95
Myself and 2 friends went together and bought 6 of them now we each have a spare in case one breaks or wears out

$21.95 plus shipping. When I bought mine i believe it came to about $27.00.Fern wrote:So how much did it cost strait from the manufacturer ??
Had a problem once when the plastic housing where the spring and ball are cracked, but easily fixed it with JB Weld. Called the manufacturer and the shipped me a new unit plus if I remember they also sent a prepaid shipping tag to sen the old one back. And I had had it for close to 3 years at the time, good company, standing behind their products.
You have great day and shoot straight and may the Good Lord smile on you.

They can be found for $21.95 to beyond $30.00.... all made by the same outfit. The manufacturer offers no special pricing . I've purchased mine from Zaliznocindustries when shipping was reasonable. That's no longer the case. They do however offer a multiples discount. CTD has 'em but there again the shipping is OB.
Since many of us "bulk buy" at Midway, the shipping starts out better and is more equitably absorbed. If the price was in the "happy zone" the shipping would offset any difference in price.
Afterall it's total cost to your porch nowadays, isn't it!

Kindof thought so myself but did not want to be the bearer of bad news.
Hey Song Dawg, las fall I picked up a really nice 10/22 carbine with a 4 digit serial number like 54xx, looks to be an early 65 and had not been shot much , will post a photo one of these days when I take one.
You have great day and shoot straight and may the Good Lord smile on you.
