What is the difference if any in triggers of a MKIII hunter, target, gov't target & competition? The ruger site doesn't say anything. I was thinking of giving my MKIII 22/45 to the wife and maybe geting myself a competition of gov't target. Would I still need a trigger job on a competition or gov't target?
Thanks,
Tim

Typically the answer would be yes to a trigger job. The factory components between all these models are the same. But the question would be - what is your intended use for this pistol? I have felt stock Ruger pistols with acceptable #3 triggers out of the box for most uses. If one wanted to shoot conventional pistol (bullseye style) then the factory trigger is lacking the crispness usually found on this style of pistol. If you found a good used competition or government target model then a trigger job may have already been incorporated into that pistol by the previous owner.
