MKIII Grips

Post by cool_husker » Sun Oct 28, 2007 5:15 am

I have not been able to find a lot of grips that say will fit on the MK III they are mostly for the MKII or will MKII fit a MKIII?
Thanks,

The volquartzen grips http://www.rimfiresports.com/merchant.m ... Code=VC3RG
are listed for the MKIII (not 22/45). I think they fit the MKIII without any or very little trimming for the magazine release. Hogue lists their rubber grips http://www.hogueinc.com/getgrip/merchan ... 155&step=4
for the MKII and MKIII but the picture shows the MKII. The Hogue catalog shows MKIII's in some of their other grips.

I've just ordered the Hogue rubber grips from Rimfire Sports & Custom for my MKII slabside and will try them on my MKIII to see how they fit. I don't like the target grips with thumbrest on the slabside for shooting with two hands and the coca bola grips on the MKIII need some attention. I like the Hogue grips I put on my 1911 and will see if they feel as good on the Rugers.

Hogue lists their rubber grips for $23.95 (I didn't look at shipping). Midway has them on sale for $18.95 + $3 + $8.60 shipping. Rimfire Sports & Custom has them for $20.95 + $1.20 tax, no shipping charge.

All the Hogue Mark II grips now come with the underside modified for the Mark III magazine release. If for some reason you find one that isn't pre-made for fitting the Mark III then you can modify one yourself.

Hope this helps.
