Are there any quick fixes, like slip on grips, to increase the MKIII 22/45 frame width ? My SW1911 measures 1.30" wide and the MKIII 22/45 frame feel like only ~3/4" wide. The grip angle is great but the width is just too narrow. Are the MKII 22/45 frames the same width as the MKIII ?

No, actually the Mark II 22/45 frames have a slightly larger girth. The newer Mark III style 22/45 frames are slimmer.

Some people use slip-on grips to help beef up the thickness but they have to be removed to take the pistol apart for maintenance. Hogue has a slip on Handall grip that works with the 22/45.

Others have modified their grips to add on 1911 grip panels. This modification permanently alters the frame and is rather extensive.
