First post here, but have been a looker-on for many months now. Bought a Beretta Neos as an entry level first handgun, mainly for its feel in my hand. Also have a MkIII Hunter (Nov 06), both with Millett red-dots. The kid likes the Beretta better than the Ruger, so we're both happy, although he shoots better than me.
My main question is regarding the high end Beretta 22's. I've seen crazy prices on the auction sites for the Beretta 87 Target and worse for the 89 Gold Standard. Are these guns worth the prices they go for? I'd think one could do better with a jazzed Mk II or III, for much less money.

Welcome to the forum!
Gun Auction sites are always high for pricing. But the bottom line is a pistol is worth what others will pay for it. The Berettas are nice shooting pistols but are they better performers than Rugers, not really. Even the Beretta 87s had heavy, creepy triggers that needed work, and that is for a target grade pistol. Mark IIs & IIIs can hold their own on the firing line, plus even with upgrades the price is right.

Get1, I hope you got the Neos Deluxe version. I looked carefully at both for several months before deciding on the Deluxe.
I have an 87 Target with a red-dot on it that I probably should sell because I don't care for it very much. The money is better spent on a Ruger with accessories like a VQ hammer and sear.
I also have a Beretta 92 Steel I that I'm not crazy about. On the other hand, I have a Beretta Stampede that I love, and likewise for the PX4 Storm. I'm just surprised that the PX4 Storm doesn't have more recoil than what it does - I'm not complaining.
