My replacement LCR on the way by 2nd Day Air?

Ruger just called, and said my replacement LCR-22 is shipping today by Second Day Air. Is this right? I just reviewed the UPS site and it states specifically that handguns only go by Next Day Air.

Maybe Ruger has a special arrangement. Has anyone else gotten a handgun shipped to an FFL by Second Day Air?

I'll post its arrival and range test.

It may be a matter of semantics. The person who said to you this may not understand the difference between the shipping modes.

I asked the same on the Ruger Forum (.net) and had several replies of members who also got Second Day returns. Apparently Ruger can do so, just not us ordinary citizens. Nice, since Second Day costs half what Next Day does.

I believe all firearms ship 2nd day air when they go by UPS or FEDEX. Both ways. I know when I've gotten air bills from Ruger and S&W it is that way.

Apparently us ordinary Joes can only use Next Day services. One extra day doesn't matter to me (much!), I just thought until now that everyone had to Next Day, even dealers and manufacturers.

Well, when the Ruger rep called Tuesday, she said she had my replacement in front of her, and it would ship that afternoon.

It shipped Wednesday. Ruger CS strikes again. I made a 40 minute round trip to the dealer for nothing, and back to him tomorrow.

At least while on the phone with Ruger, I got tracking and serial numbers. The original was in the 3000 range, the replacement is in the 29000 range. Hopefully they found all the bugs doing 26000 more of them.
