Is the extractor for the MKIII the same as the one for the 10/22? I haven't owned a 10/22 in quite some time and don't remember for sure.
thanks

Yes, the extractor claws are the same between the two models. The extractor plunger springs look the same but they are not. You must reuse the one in your Mark II/III and not the one in the package for the 10/22.

Thanks, as always, Bullseye.
Somehow I acquired an extractor in a tiny ziplock bag with "Ruger" written on it. Age and CRS prevent me from remembering exactly how I got it, but glad to know I can add it to the MK spare parts tray.
The factory part has been flawless to date, but I don't fire quite as many rounds through mine as many of you gents do.

Sure? I checked the manuals on my Mark III and 10/22 and both show B-15 as the part number on the extractor plunger springs. I have them in one bag for both guns.

Yes, if you've ordered an extractor for the 10/22 and want to use it in a Mark II/III the spring that comes with it is a stronger tensioned spring. VQ even has included a sticker on their parts bag with a warning not to use the spring in the bag in your Ruger pistol but to reuse the plunger spring in the bolt of your Mark II/III.

Is this just with VQ springs, then? My Ruger extractors and extractor springs have always been in separate bags from Ruger, and as I posted, B-15 was the number for the extractor spring for either gun. My parts were all gotten over two years ago, if that makes a difference.
I hope this is just VQ, as I have half a dozen B-15 extractor springs all dumped in one bag.

VQ or Power Custom replacement extractor hooks for the 10/22 have the stronger springs in the kits.

Whew, so I won't need to sort them. The thread made no distinction as to who's extractor springs were different. Thanks, Bullseye!

Sorry about that! Sometimes I know what I want to say but don't always describe the whole concept. Glad you're not in a panic.

No problem! Shouldn't be too hard to sort lighter from stronger springs, if that had been the case. And I learned something. I didn't know that VQ's 10/22 extractor springs were stronger than Ruger's.
