Transformed: 22/45 MKIII upper on MKIII

My aging eyes rely on optics to shoot, so instead of drill / tap the MkIII Standard, I use Weigand no-smith mount for the UltraDot. The mount functions very well for it's intended purpose but didn't work for me: adds bulk, weight and height, and loses the rear sight. So I went costing out drill/tap the upper ... it tally up to about $100 including a $20 rail.... you'll be the judge.
Anyhoo.. came across a brand new unfired 22/45 5.5" upper with box and rail. Thanks to the valuable info I could locate here and other forums, after ~2 hours of careful filing / sanding.. and removing the nuisance LCI, the 22/45 is now tighty-tight fit on my SS frame..
Range time will be tomorrow at the earliest, will update result. Below are pix on before and after.
