Removing bolt

Sometimes I can remove the bolt after removing the mainspring housing without separating the receiver from the grip frame. Other times I can't do it no matter what I do.

Luckily I was able to do so today when I wanted to bore sight my red dot scope.

What is the trick that allows the bolt to be easily removed?

Make sure the hammer strut is not caught behind the sear spring pin when you try to remove the bolt.

Gun position

Dry fire the gun, remove the main spring housing, turn the gun over so that the sights are facing down and the muzzlle is slightly upward. Shake the gun a couple of times. Gravity will pull the hammer strut to its proper position and you will be able to pull the bolt out easily.

Wow, THAT was simple. That's kind of what I thought, but for some reason I couldn't get it right a while back. Thanks.
