I've ordered a VQ trigger and sear and a Clark bushing (and sear pin). I've seen a number of posts here about stoning the bushing for proper fit. I'm unclear on exactly where on the bushing the stoning work needs to be done, and why. Can anyone enlighten this 22/45 newbie? Thanks!

You do not want to do any thing to the bushing. You want it to fit tight to the hammer. In most cases it's a press/friction fit. Any play in the hammer/bushing adds creep to the trigger. The pin for the 22/45 fits the sear.

I'll second the above post. Tap the bushing into the hammer if it's a tight fit using a wrench socket and a mallet. You can even put the bushing in the freezer for an hour to shrink it up a little bit before seating. Don't stone anything!

The Clark bushing and pin came today. Do you mean above that I should use the "oversize" pin that Clark sent, or simply use the factory sear pin? Again, I'm also installing a VQ sear when those parts arrive. Thanks.

You can use either pin but the pin that came with the kit will be a better fit.

Installed the Clark bushing and VQ sear, trigger and plunger w/factory spring. Installation was straightforward and the pistol now has a noticeably lighter, crisper trigger pull. Forgot to put in the Clark sear pin but will do that next time I detail strip the gun.

Looking forward to taking it to the range next weekend to see how it shoots.

You didn't say, but if you have a 22/45 with the removable grip panels the sear pin will be too long since the grips cover the pin. I filed my pin to fit, but didn't see any improvement over the original sear pin.

I have the non-removable grips so that wasn't an issue for me. Good to know, though.

Put 300 rounds through the pistol on Saturday. Very happy with the results.

I think I am going to be as happy as you are. I just put the Clark bushing in my pistol and I can feel a huge difference just dry firing it. I highly recommend this mod to everybody.
