Had a few minor issues with the Mark II yesterday. I'm 99% sure it was due to the extra magazine I bought (stovepipes and double feeds, always with the new mag) but I also realized my Mark II has never been detail stripped and deep cleaned in the 15 years I've owned it, so it's probably time.

Is the procedure for the Mark II the same as the sticky for the Mark III, or is there a Mark II sticky somewhere that I'm missing?

It's the same as the MKIII with the exception that you do not have the mag disconnect parts to deal with. You do not need to insert the mag to fire the gun, either. Just remember the hammer must be down to remove the main spring.

Bullseye's Guide is very good, if you follow it to the T you will be fine.

I've been hesitant to take it apart because my son, with more confidence than skill, took his apart and we like to NEVER got it back together. With the pix and the step-by-step instructions, it's a piece of cake. Thanks, Bullseye!

15 years of dried up oil, powder residue, bullet wax and lead in there. It looks MUCH better now...

Just reassembled and testfired. Wonder of wonders, the new mag works flawlessly now.

Combination of bolt drag due to crud buildup and stiff spring on the new mag, I expect.

I detailed cleaned and did some trigger work to my neighbors MKII last summer. He bought it new in early 80's and had never detail cleaned it. I shot it and could not get over how hard the trigger was. He shot my MKIII and decided his needed cleaning and upgraded. It was like you described, cruddy as it can get but it still worked. We did have to replace the recoil spring in his it was only about the 1/4 strength of my MKIII. Now he is good to go now.

Nope. Had a really sweet Clark setup in it when I bought it. Smooth as glass and light as a feather.

I just need to shoot it more, see if I can get the hang of this "Bullseye" stuff...

It obviously needs a VQ sear and VQ extractor. Do you have the right grips for Bullseye?
