I recently have gotten interested in shooting my old Ruger RST-6 and my new Mk III 22/45RP. When I went through my store of old ammunition, I found about 1500 rounds of Federal Lightning 22 LR cartridges. These rounds have plain lead bullets with no copper plating. Is there any reason not to use this ammo in these pistols?

Shoot away. The lubrication may not be visible and the rounds appear as just plain lead.

Thanks, I was a little concerned about their causing some leading.
