I believe there is a move a foot here at GTOL to start a friendly little league. At least there's a poll posting here: http://www.guntalk-online.com/forum/vie ... php?t=2043, to see if there's enough interest among the members. Back when there was a Mark III.org, we did have a little postal league running for the members. However it died along with that domain.

I find myself a little disappointed. I am a member of both RFC and RugerForum.com and I heartily support both forums, but I don't encourage folks to jump from one forum to another. That's not to say I won't throw a link over to another forum to put folks in touch with someone who's making special parts for pistols. If there's not enough interest here to form a league, then by all means seek alternate avenues. Let's not kill something before it even gets off the ground.

Bullseye ,
I'm not trying to kill the interest here .....many of the member here go back and forth , and I'm like you I was disapointed myself when only 9 people showed interest here....Didn't mean to step on any toe's ,I thought I was doing a good thing.....I myself dont have a league locally that I can shoot :( due to my work scheudle ..so I suppose I got alittle into it and was trying to geerate some supprt for the on-line "league" ....I also tryed to fire it up for our league here....like I said didn't mean to step on any toes just trying to be involved and support something I enjoy....

You know what - You're right, I'm sorry. Maybe I was a little harsh in my earlier post - very unusual for me but it does happen sometimes.

I'm attempting to encourage not discourage. Like a lot of things, they usually start out small and grow. Five, nine, or twenty shooters, the amount of competitors really doesn't matter; just have some fun. If it doesn't generate enough interest to balance out the work to set it up, then joining in with a league already running is a great idea. If folks want to try something new, like creating a postal league, then I'm for it.

perhaps a little more time to get holes punched in targets over here is in order.

I'm hoping to get some range time in Tuesday, I'll post and maybe throw in a Q&D picassaweb primer … anyone with a digital camera or scanner should be able to post their own to a class-specific thread (.22, bug, service, etc)

ahh .....its all good .....I hope more people jump on our effort here to as well ......who know maybe there could be some cross forum competition...i just want to support both and help out if I can.....I relly enjoy bullseye pistol......I cant wait for the little gun store in the next town to get there range done.....the owner has told me that he will have bullseye shoots there , just .22 gallery stuff ......I relly hope that all works out as I plan on being active in his program also . there a few guys who shoot some informal stuff amongst themself at a local range on tuesday nights ....I work 2nd shift and cant attend but I'm trying to see If I can shoot my targets on the wkend and turn them in .....either way I relly enjoy this sport ....very few people seem to want to put forth any effort to be good at things these days, and shooting well one handed does take some effort to master and I'm not sure I'll ever master it.... but as long as I enjoy it and I can help it grow for other people to enjoy I'm all for it.....Keith

I can see no reason why there shouldn't be active postal shoots on both forums. Like Keith I visit both places fairly regularly and am active in the postal shoot over at RFC (hopefully I am not crossing any taboos by mentioning a specific forum). The question would be whether to shoot separate targets for each forum or post the scores from a single shooting session on each forum?

Fortunately my local gun club is less than 10 miles away and their indoor range is open 24/7. It is strictly 50' with B-2 and B-3 targets. Our league has gone to 2 nights a week now, Tue and Sun. We fire a 900 match.... lots of fun. Currently 12 to 16 shooters with skill levels that run the gamut from first time shooter to master. I also try to get out there Thur morn for some practice.... working on getting my slow fire scores above the low 80's.

I notice the other forums league. It's all good.

I know many on this thread are old, aged, and infirmed... :D

As I said in the other thread, if you want to use 21 foot (7 yd) online printed targets, it's fine by me.. gives everyone a chance to enjoy a little friendly comp. It's where your guns sighted for you and where your comfortable at.

I know I'll be shooting mine at 50', at least till warm weather hits.

That's why they have reduced targets lol..

I might even get around to posting a 50 yarder just , well, just because...

Until BE posts that 298-23X and scares us all away

I don't really care if its not caliber specific..or, even one hand bullseye...

Your thoughts??

(edit: .410 gauge with 10 pellets doesn't count!!)

Any caliber, any distance just as long as the target is appropriate. It's all for fun anyway. I shoot a lot of 50' indoor rimfire bullseye so that's what mine will be.

I just want to set the record straight. There are no taboos being violated. It is fine to discuss other shooting forums here at GTOL. I post links to them all the time. I'm not trying to start a forum war. My earlier rub was folks are trying to set up a 22 postal league here. A well intended post (but one I misconstrued as poor timing) was directing folks to join in over at RFC's postal forum. I've got nothing against these other shooting forums - I am a long standing member at many of them - but I also owe it to the loyal membership of my forum to encourage participation here.

My overall goal has always been to promote the shooting sports. If anyone has ever read any of my posts in any forum, I'm sure that they'd all agree I'm all about helping people. That is why I have this forum. To help shooters and give them a place to find and/or provide information. Notice there are no commercial sponsors or ad links here at Guntalk-Online. I gain nothing financially from having this forum. There are no commercial sponsorships on any of my maintenance pages either. I pay for all of this out of my own pocket. I do not hawk my services or products on this forum. I do not seek or do I accept donations for GTOL. Many well meaning folks have asked to donate to help with running the forum, but I've always turned them down. I appreciate everyone's membership and I thank you all for joining in here. There are many forums out there but folks still take the time to come here so something must be right.
