MK III 22/45 Hunter Grip?

I have a Mk III 22/45 Hunter with the plastic handles. Needless to say, the grips don't come off since it is all one piece.

Are there any grip options for this gun? Does anyone make anything that can snap over and/or around the built-in grip?

Unfortunately, I don't have those two holes to screw the grip in. My grip is solid plastic molded right onto the gun. It is not removable and has no holes on which to mount another grip

There is a mod that grinds the grips off and add inserts to attach std 45 grip panels. I do not recall if it's on this site. I do know it's on RFC under the 22/45 forum.

Here are a set of Techteach's gtips moiunted on one of my 22/45 MarkII's. The MarkIII is even easier to mount, just drill and thread 2 holes in ech side.

The MKIII version, which is much easier to install than the MKII.

The TechTeach (Dominic's) grips are pretty good for the 22/45, lots of folks like them. You have to drill your own grip screw holes into the frame but this is a pretty simple process.

I think she's looking to put some of the nice wooden grips on there. It's more her gun than mine, but I shoot it about 1500 times more than she does

Putting 1911 style grip panels increases the overall thickness of the 22/45's pistol grip. If she's comfortable with the feel of the pistol then increasing its girth won't be pleasant for her. Typically folks who put these on are trying to bulk up the feel of the Mark III 22/45's skinny frame.

Good idea, unless you've found a great way to sleep with one eye open. She may be unhappy with your choice to add the grips. But relief is soon on the way, if you decide to get another 22/45 Ruger has created a new version with the wooden grip panels added on. That's one of the pics I saw that made me think of this!

I'll stick to customizing my .380 and leave her .22 be.
