Titanium disconnector

is there any benefit to a titanium disconnector for the ruger mk? saw one in the midway flier and cant see how it would make a difference..

It will allow you to run a very light trigger plunger spring and not have disconnector reset problems. So you can get down to or lower than a 1# trigger.

I don't see this as much of an advantage because the trigger plunger spring weight is normally less that 6oz of the trigger's pull weight. I see this as more of a marketing ploy, and one that lets VQ get around any design infringement issues since Ruger doesn't make this part out of titanium. It is one way to buy this critical part via an aftermarket source since Ruger will not sell it via retail options. Many folks have needed new disconnectors and there was no option available other to send it back for factory repair or find a used one via the auction sites. I wouldn't replace a good factory one for a titanium disconnector unless the original was damaged.

Bullseye, your statement sure makes a lot of sense to me, and i gives the parts changers another part to change and talk about. Even though it probably makes very little difference.

I replaced mine with the Volquartzen link and it took virtually all of the pre-travel out of the trigger. No need for adjustable trigger. The adjustable trigger may be a better solution for pre-travel adjustment, but the titanium link took care of that in my 22/45.
