I have a Ruger standard MKII with a 6" tapered barrel. I would like to replace the stock rear sight(windage adjustable only) with a sight that is both windage and elevation adjustable. I know that there are a few options available but I would like to "not" have to replace the front sight. Has anyone used the ruger factory adjustable rear sight and if so did they have to change the front sight?...thanks...I would like to buy a LPA (PSI) low profile sight but I can't get one shipped to Canada

The LPU sight is your only option and still use the factory front. The factory adjustable sight base is too high for the Standard's OEM front sight.

what is the chance someone has one that they would be willing to sell?

You might find someone but these are good sights and most folks tend to hang onto them. Is there some law in Canada that prevents you from purchasing one online? I'm not up on the intricacies of Canada's gun laws.

Midway was the only company that I found that has them in stock...they won't ship to Canada...the Canadian laws could careless what is shipped to Canada as long as the taxes are paid on the items...sadly it is the USA laws that restrict US companies from sending stuff up here.

If you can't get someone to sell a used one I may be able to help you with acquiring one of these sights.
