It's made by Fabico an is a .22 lr (Shorty) Model not .22 short.

It looks like a good fishing tackle box snake gun.

Anyone ever heard of it?

It's a real POS but it will serve it's purpose and it was cheap. (like me)

Sorry it took me so long to upload this picture. I have to switch computers to upload images to the server; it doesn't like the Mac. I inserted it into the original post.

On the flip side, it looks more like a starter pistol than a real one. Fabico is not the maker of the pistol just the importer. They used to import firearms out of Germany and Italy in the 1960's they're out of business now. Are there any other markings on the pistol?

And it has a proof mark that looks like a spread Eagle (wing tips up crowning the head) and the letter 'N' below the Eagle. It looks like the Ruger mark with an 'N' underneath (no letters in the Bird.

Serial on frame and barrel, proof mark on frame, barrel and cylinder.

I couldn't find much about Fabico other than they also made a .22 lr PPK type pistol that didn't sell at auction. Italian made in Germany, I think. Do you give the gun to the snake or shoot the snake with the gun?

That pistol looks like a Rohm RG 10, .22 cal short, and it was imported by Fabico out of Jacksonville, FL.

Darn close. The screws are in the same location and all. The butt is rounded for a good head knocker, (Lord know I'd hate to break the grips on someone head, the head would heal.) the cylinder pivot shaft is longer than the barrel (strange) too cheap to shorten it with snub version?

For snakes, I think rat shot would scatter nicely and not go through the bottom of the boat. I'll let you know the next time I get the plastic worm in a tree and a moccasin falls in the freaking boat.

I'm putting the gun and some clean under pants in the tackle box today.

PS The grips say, Shorty on one side and F.A.B. on the other. With the Ruger logo, I was hoping you guys were going to tell me that it is the oldest Rugers known to man (outside of a museum) and worth a buttload of cash.

That pin under the barrel unscrews and doubles as the ejector rod. You stick it into the hole and push out the empties through the loading gate. I'd venture that the pin is already partially unscrewed and that is why it is extending beyond the muzzle - see if it will screw in farther.

Will try that Bullseye. I'm out of town for a week. I hope you are right and I am that unobservant.

Rohm use that type of pin on several models so the other possibility if the pins is fully seated is that someone swapped pins with another model.

It does unscrew to act as a spent shell poker, but it is in all the way.
