Clark hammer bushing kit vs. VQ hammer bushing

I'd appreciate it if you guys shared your opinions on which bushing set-up is leads to a better trigger pull for a MK3.
My intuition tells me the Clark kit is the superior choice. VQ only produces a bushing, which is probably dimensioned to fit the average OEM MK hammer pivot pin. Clark produces their bushing to fit their hammer pivot pin, which I think would lead to a closer tolerance than the VQ and OEM pin.
What do you guys think?
Thanks! (By the way, I wasn't sure If I should post this here or in the Technical forum. If this is the incorrect place, I apologize, feel free to move it)

VQ started making the bushing when Ruger quit making the MKII bushing. As far as tollerances I don't know. I would guess it's better that Rugers sloppy fit. If you are working on a MKIII and want to keep the Mag Safety, I think your only choice is Ruger factory bushing. Far as I know VQ nor Clark does not make one to be used with the factory MKIII mag safety. The VQ hammer (all there parts in that case) are built to more exact tollerances than Rugers. The VQ Hammer has a history of causing light hammer strikes though. Which I think is due to it's lighter mass. But it also possiable that some had some drag between the parts and failed to catch it. The Clark Bushing will fit the VQ hammer without any issues. I also think that VQ has a different angle cut on the hammer for the sear to mate with, improving the trigger over the std hammer.
The Clark Bushing comes with a oversize pin to fit there bushing. With it you on have enough clearance for a good rotating bearing without the slop.
Either one will do the job. The Clark will remove eliminate 1 rotating surface, where the VQ will not. In my book, less the slop, better the trigger will be.

Thanks for the reply, Blue.
I was unaware that Ruger quit making the MK2 bushing. I removed the mag-safety in the MK3 I use (I replaced it with Bullyseye's washer spacer mod), it made the mags stick in the frame, and I don't like having to involve a magazine in the take down process. I think the only two reasons I'd ever re-install the mag safety are if I moved to a state that required a mag safety, or if it needed to be sent to Ruger.
I agree that, within reason, the less slop the better. I think I will order the Clark kit Monday. I just wanted to get some opinions on the VQ bushing, but based on what you have told me, VQ's bushing sounds like it is more of a 'replacement part' than an upgrade.

I have the Clark Custom oversize bushing as well as the CC trigger.
It tightened things up quite nicely. This is for the Mk II, but there is no reason tha it can't be done with a Mk III. The trigger and oversize bushing combo coupled with the VQ target sear, gives a crisp clean break.
Just over 2 lbs. I'd recommend it highly.

An alternative is the bushing made by Sam Lam (
[email protected]). Excellent replacement for the mag safety on MKIII's.

+1 on Sam's bushing. Excellent product, great guy to deal with.

The main difference between the Clarks bushing and Sam's bushing is that Clarks removes one of the rotating points. Where sams does not. So Clarks will give you a slightly better trigger due to less takeup, with the press fit to hammer. Both are very good options for removing the mag safety.

The other difference is its based on a design I made many years ago when the Mark III first came out, and Sam's bushing has a built in spacer to offset where the mag disconnect hook and spring would normally sit in the pistol.

With no trigger pull scale to judge accurately, I can only say that it felt like my trigger pull was cut in half after installing Sam's bushing and the VQ sear.
Nice design, Bullseye!!

With the bushing taking most all of the slop out of the hammer and the VQ sear more relaxed angle I would say yes.
