Will Ruger do another DA .22LR revolver?

Ruger is the king of autoloader .22 pistols and rifles, and SA revolver .22s. Anyone think they'll make another DA revolver in .22 LR ?

The SP-101 .22 was an adaptation, and awfully clunky for a .22. They weren't quite the "king" with that.

I would like to see Ruger make one more like Taurus 94/S&W J-frame size. I know, why not just buy one of those? Because they wouldn't be a Ruger. I want the Ruger no-sideplate action and the Ruger stainless steel.

I even suggested it on the "tell the CEO" link on Ruger's website, but I doubt that honestly gets any notice.

If they did I'd buy one if it was a 10 shot . Or a 22LR GP100...10 shot cylinder....... :D

Eight shot might work with a J frame size. Ten would be getting a little chunky.

I'd like either, but would prefer a GP100 in .22.

The GP-100 is big though, getting away from a .22 size frame. The original problem I had about the SP-101.

The only Ruger DA revolvers I've had were in my previous shooting life. A blued 2 1/2 inch (?) Speed Six, and a stainless 4 inch Security Six. I loved those guns. That reminds me of another dislike of the 100 and 101. The post mounted grips. Eeeeuuugh! If I ever own another Ruger DA revolver, it would be an older model because of the grips.

So how about it, Ruger? A DA J frame size .22 revolver, no side plate Ruger action, stainless, adjustable sights, with traditional scale grips? With 2, 4, and 6 inch barrel models. Make the 2 inch with fixed sights, maybe.

I would like to see Ruger produce something similar to what Sig has produced in the "Mosquito". While the Mosquito has it's limitations, it is a very practical production. I simulates their centerfire SA's in size and feel, giving the shooter a gun to learn with while reducing recoil and costs.
Now for the hard part: What would they call it ? Anybody have any suggestions?

Albatross? (aka. Gooney bird)

Realistically, I don't see Ruger creating a new 22 pistol design to compete with their Mark III line. They have a good thing going with the current line of pistols and they're well aware tooling up another line would be cost prohibitive.

i wouldn't be too cost prohibitive i would thnk to take an existing platform like the sp101/gp100 and put a 22lr barrell and cylander on it.

Probably would be too costly, but Sig did it (not that well though). Albatross? funny. I like the "defender".

Now you got me on another wish. You're talking a .22 P95 or SR9.

I wonder what Ruger could do along the lines of a .22 pocket gun, a la Beretta Bobcat? Without the cheapo plastic LCP frame.

I think they could make a "great" seller, and still keep the Mark family of pistols in tack. Just imagine what a bobcat size Ruger would do for them. "Gimmie a couple for my arsenal".
Again, what would they call it? hmmm......The "Americana" :)usa

Looks like Ruger would lose my sale to a (carefully gone-over) Taurus 94 or Charter Arms Pathfinder.
