Challenger II's new barrel

I have my new barrel and rear sight assembly installed. Now I need to go try it out. The rear sight assembly has been improved over the original '77 version. A set screw on the under side may be loosened to allow drifting the rear sight if required without having to use a drift punch. I also installed a new recoil spring to go along with the recently replaced main springs and firing pin spring.

R2, received from my darling daughter, gives a Woof! in greeting to Bear. She stays under my desk on my feet, or besides my feet wherever I might be. Except fishing along the bank of the pond, then she sits on top of my feet watching for the fish.

Very nice pistol TB, I'll bet that it is a great shooter. It's easy to see that it is a direct descendant from my Belgium Challenger! Regards

I forgot to mention I also installed a new firing pin. That, with the other changes, corrected my FTFs big time. It really does shoot good. My favorite handgun. I really don't expect to see any improvement with the new barrel (other than cosmetically looking better), but you never know. Range report to follow.

Those are awesome grips! Did you make them? If not, who was the designer - manufacturer. Beautiful, to say the least.

The grips were made by my wifes grandfather. He gave me the pistol and I really enjoy showing it off.

Those grips are carved quite nicely. The pattern reminds me of some of the old leather carvings I did back when I was a kid.

Very nice...
All for a thumb rest, you have a thumb harness..... it's not going any where.
Wood carvings are not very common. And if you see some most are CNC machine cut, or laser cut.
