Opinion of Heritage SA revolvers
What is the general opinion of Heritage SA 22lr/22mag revolvers? They seem alright to me, esp. for $199. I know they aren't a Ruger, and I'd like to have a Single Six one day. I have read how a lot of folks don't like the idea of a safety, but that does not bother me. I would like opinions from REAL shooters. And this is the place for me! Thanks in advance,

I have a Single Six and have fired a few Rough Riders. IMO, the Single Six is clearly superior in workmanship and materials of construction. The Rough Riders I've fired shoot consistently and, therefore, can be shot accurately. I haven't seen a great range of ammo, but they did well with Federal Champion, Fed Value Pack and CCI SV. The trigger is fair to good. The cylinder seemed a bit sloppy but didn't seem to affect the way it fired.
One of the RR owners I know had a problem with cylinder timing. Sent it back and had it repaired. No hassle.
I think the Rough Rider is a fun plinker. They will probably last a fairly long time. If not, they are about half the price of a Ruger, get another. I'm not sure most people won't see the difference in accuracy for casual shooting.
If I were looking for another SA .22, I'd buy another Single Six. This is one of those times that the difference in quality is well worth the difference in price.
