Winchester 555 Bulk

Post by smokey » Wed Jul 15, 2009 1:39 pm

I just left WW with two 555 boxes of Winchester 22 LR 38 Grain Hollow Points. The box says plated but they are copper washed. This is the first I have seen of these in my area. Has anyone had any experience with these?

I used to shot the old bulk Winchester Dynapoints but have not seen them at WalMart in a log time

They work just fine in my MK Rugers. Feed and eject like they are supposed to. Not the most accurate stuff but good enough for plinking. WW has been getting those regularly around here, along with some Federal bulk from time to time.

Say it isn't so! I don't even bother walking back to the counter anymore because they haven't had much of anything in months!

This bears investigation!

Don't be shy about asking the sports section counter clerk if they have any bulk 22 rounds. The last few times I was looking for Federal bulk the shelves were bare but they had plenty of it stashed behind the counter out of view.

Last time I was in the shelves were empty also, but Jim the manager showed up and told me to stop back in the morning shortly after 8:00 as he had a case coming in. Stopped back the next morning and the unopened case was setting on the floor. He told me I could have six. paid for them and had a good day.

I always ask, they always say no. When they have them, I buy a few boxes. I thought I had a source of Fed 510 and CCI SV (50-round boxes) at Green Top (Richmond). Dropped by yesterday and all they had was Win Xpert and RGB's at 75% above WW prices. I have ~4k rounds of assorted .22 ammo, so desperation hasn't hit, yet.
