Hi Guy's. I'm new to this .22 pistol game, never owned one before and I have a Question. I just got a Mark II, 22/45 heavy barrel and was wondering, is there a way to put a scope rail on this w/o having it drilled for it? I have the rear target sight on it with only one screw. Go easy on me, I'm really new to this gun and would like some info. I have put 200 rds. thru it so far. Thanks for any help.

Welcome to Guntalk-online!

Sure, you can put a Weigand "no-gunsmithing" weaver scope rail on your pistol. It replaces the rear sight mount and bolts securely to the dovetail in the receiver. They cost around $40 at Rimfire Sports and Custom http://www.rimfiresports.com/merchant.m ... y_Code=VC2 or you can get it from any other parts supplier you choose like Midway, Numerich, Weigand, etc. They come in two styles - blue and stainless to match the finish of your pistol. This is a very good scope mount and once installed you won't have to worry about it coming loose on you. Here is a link to a set of instructions on how to remove the rear sight: http://www.guntalk-online.com/2245detai ... ghtremoval

Hope that answers your questions. Got any more, don't hesitate to ask. Congratulations on your new pistol.

B-Square makes a mount that leaves the original sights inplace. I'm not sure there still available. My neighbor has on one his MKII. I will see if I can locate a link for you. It is baiscly like a pair of 3 facing each other. 1 clamps the scope while the other clamps the gun.

The one that Bullseye recommended has great review.
