New Beretta for me

Bought a Bobcat .22 last week, and got to test it today. Not too bad, got six inch groups at 25 feet with that two inch barrel and near useless sights. The little thing has no ejector, but I only got one FTE in about 150 rounds.

I would wish they made it total stainless. You can get it with a stainless slide and barrel for $80 more, but it didn't seem useful with the rest of the gun still black. So mine is the total black finish, Beretta calls it Bruniton. I call it hard to touch up. Birchwood Casey Super Blue should do the steel, and Testor's flat black model paint for the alloy frame.

Other posts show I'm Mister .22, even planning this to be a carry gun, as I plan on a permit soon.

If only Ruger made a pocket .22, especially with no plastic like the LCP .380 is. But this Beretta was the best choice in current production. Walther's TPH was an all stainless pocket .22, but gone for years now and hard to come by one, or mags, or other parts for it.

There's a new Desert Eagle Micro that is all metal and .380 caliber. It looks like a Rorbaugh or an AMT Backup, and has a very small profile. http://www.tactical-life.com/online/pro ... ert-eagle/

A range acquaintance has a Bobcat. He has a lot of fun with it. He seems to get a few failures to fire, but the round always seems to fire when you pull the trigger again.

If it's a pocket .22 you want in Stainless, look into the North American Arms Group. (http://www.naaminis.com/) They are made in Utah, and very well made. I have the Minny Mag Revolver with an extra .22LR cylinder.

The other choice is the GUARDIAN by N. American. All stainless, great reliability, heavy, life time Warranty. In our family we carried them for years until we replaced them with LCPs. Regards

Bud's right, the NAA mini would be a good choice.

The SS TPH was made by Interarms & was a problematic piece. The Real German TPH were/are not SS and they are a pretty reliable pistol. They were prohibited from Import under the GCA '68. You gotta be a LEO to get one imported. A LEO can sell one on the open market. Parts & service are available from Carl Walther USA-not S&W.
