High Standard Duramatic

Stopped at a little hole-in-the-wall country gun shop today and they have a High Standard Duramatic in the case with a price tag of $160 on it.
It has quite a lot of bluing wear and one grip is cracked, but it seems pretty tight and the trigger is nice.
Don't need another rimfire, but looking at prices on Duramtics, that seems like somewhere between very reasonable and a steal.

You sure it is a Duramatic, if I remember the Duramatic had a one piece grip like the JCHiggins Model 80 but did not have a thumbrest. High Standards are very particular about the mags you use in them.

Hmmmmm. Now ya got me wondering.
IIRC, it said Duramatic on the slide, but it doesn't look quite like that. Barrel is round and tapered, very similar to the MK-1. Definitely two piece grips, and they didn't fill in behind the trigger guard like that one does. Receiver looks the same, has the same take-down screw on the barrel.
Might have to wander back by one day and look at it closer.

$160 is a fair price for a Bull Barreled Duramatic. Just be sure that its a real High Standard and not a Mitchell knock off. The Mitchell's had a lot of problems.
