I have been to my local Wal-Mart more than a few time's now looking for the bulk box of Federal Auto-Match, they cant keep any ammo in stock! I have also been to a few of the local gun shops and same story no 22 ammo! Is there any where else that sells that bulk box of federal Auto-match?

This is the condition all over the country.. I live in Central Fl. and it is the same here..
Unfortunately, people are hording ammo for fear that the new administration is going to Levy a high tax on ammo or some other means of limiting it.
I wouldn't be surprised if part of the Brady bunch started the rumors.
I think that in time things will settle down and get back to normal, but for now you will just have to keep checking. Wal Mart seems to be getting in small quantities regularly. You just have to be lucky enough to be there at the right time.

We have the same situation in North Carolina. The clerks in Wal-Mart tell me that they have trouble buying in any volume and when they get some in someone comes in and buys it all at once. I checked this week and they actually had some Remington 550 packs but I don't care much for that. My gun does like the Federal 510s. Maybe it will get back to normal soon.

Well, Monday I was in a Bass Pro and they had shelves full and actually had it (rimfire)on sale. Perhaps some are getting caught up. I don't consider myself a hoarder, but you might as I made it a practice to buy a 325 rd box of Fed AM every time I shopped at wally world, and every time midway had a sale of CCI or RWS that some of my stuff shoots. So, I've been shooting from my supply, and didn't buy any at BP Monday. Regards

Our local Walmarts usually have CCI Minimags, Winchesters, and Remingtons in stock, but no Federals Valupaks to be found anywhere. At the gun show last Saturday, several vendors were asking $25.00 for the valupaks, & $3.00 for the 50 count round nose Federals!!! I noticed also that Cabela's has taken the Federal Valupaks off their website. I'm basically sticking to the Minimag Varmint rounds & the Winchesters that each come in the 100 count plastic boxes.

Forgot to mention in my previous post, the good Winchesters are the Super-X high velocity (1330 fps) that come in the red plastic boxes. I'm staying away from those Xpert HV's with the gray lead nose because they are extremely dirty in the gun (& your fingers when loading the magazines).

I just bought some Remington Goldens 22lr ammo 525 bulk. I hear alot of pro's and cons about it, oh well. It was on sale locally (michigan) and I have a few bricks of it. My gun club has some 45acp reloads and 40 independence for sale lately. Other then that, you can't find 9mm, 38sp anywhere.

I ran many bricks of the Rem Goldens through a P22 with only a dud every once in a while so I believe that you will be pleased. Regards

Yeah its pretty crazy, I was at Gander Mountain yesterday and a box of CCI Green Tag was $19.00. A few months ago it was only $12.00 or $14.00. That was the only .22 ammo they had!

I'm glad I bought the remington goldens now. I have 3-525 packs, 400rds of remington thunderbolt, and 300 rds of win. s/v. I am all out of 38sp, 45acp with not much immediate hope of getting any. I do have 250 rds of 9mm, but once that is gone, who knows? I guess I won't shoot anymore, and I'll have to find another hobby. It is golf season.

Wandered through a WalMart this morning. They had some Fed Automatch so I bought a couple of boxes. This one actually had 3 boxes of 9mm. Thought about buying those, but since I reload I haven't been in the market for commercial ammo.
My favorite gun shop had a fair selection of centerfire ammo, but no .380. They were pretty much out of .22. They didn't have any primers other than a few shot shell. Jacketed rifle bullets seem to be in short supply, but there seems to be a pretty good stock of cast bullets. May buy some more, but you need primers to make that work.
I've been figuring that this rush would settle down but it keeps going. My gunshop was pretty low in firearms.
May have to slow down on shooting now that it's fishing season.

I hit the firearm counter every visit to Wallyworld. They don't even have Remington in stock anymore, and that's usually what they have the most of.
This sucks.
ammo and components selling fast

I called the company that makes Federal ammunition and components. I had a good chat with one of there reps, it seems that federal is making ammo 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and can not keep up with the demand for ammo right now. I was specifically looking why small pistol primers are so hard to find, between higher than normal ammo manufacturing and a huge demand they can not make stuff fast enough.
It seems that plenty of people are picking up as much ammo and reloading supplies just in case our current anti-gun president and his mindless hoard get to implement there dream of a non gun/non ammo America.
