Recently bought a Ruger MKIII with 4 3/4" tapered barrel. Has the same front sight and ring that Ruger has used forever. The sight blade appears to be pinned through the ring. Has anybody found or rigged a fiber optics blade that will replace the stock sight blade?
Thanks,
Mac

I have altered front sight blades as required with a fle and used Superglue or JB weld to glue a HiViz lite pipe to the sight. Not thw prettiest, but they do work.
You have great day and shoot straight and may the Good Lord smile on you.

Welcome to the forum!
Do you have a fixed sight (Standard model) Mark III version or the tapered target version with the adjustable rear sight? Those front sight blades are pinned though the barrel band. Hi-Viz makes a replacement sight blade for these #RT2008 if you have an adjustable rear sight on your tapered barrel. http://www.hivizsights.com/Ruger-C10.aspx

Ruger sight
I emailed ruger and they said they had a sight that would fit. My pistol has a fixed rear sight and old time blade on a band front sight. I explained this to them and they sent me a #RT2208 sight which doesn't fit my gun at all. But I glued the #RT2008 behind the stock sight (the band of the stock sight wouldn't come off) and it works well...they are both the same height. It looks like crap though, 2 front sights. But if I ever decide to get rid of it I'll take the hi-viz (tru-glo?) sight off.
