This Mark lll has be accurized, Pac-Lited, re-griped and shares a Ultra-Dot 4 dotter with my Mark lll 22/45 tacker.

Heading for the range tomorrow with my .22 stash.

STRIKING! I'll bet that it's a shooter, I have a few of those TS barrels on Buck Marks and they all perform.

Thanks everyone and especially Bullseye for months of personal and website help with both guns. I learned so much about these Mark 3's that when I shoot them it will be with so much more confidence because I know exactly what all the parts inside the bolt and frame should be and will be doing.

I should have included a pic of my Mark lll 22/45, it's a 6 7/8" stainless fluted barrel-also completely accurized. I'm sure they both will be fine.

How do you like the Pac-Lite. How dose it compare with the old barrel?

I think it's just as accurate as the original bull barrel but extremely light weight-making the gun a joy to handle. It also gives me two guns for approximately 1/2 the cost of another Ruger. This was a Talo edition originally so I have some very nice wood grips that came with it and this was a trade off for the aluminum blue grips, which by the way are made by Hogue not Tactical Solutions. If I had know this at the time I would have bought the blue grips Ruger sells with their logo on it.

I tried to install the Weaver scope mount that came with the Talo set-up but it didn't quite sit right on the receiver, due to a slight wobble, so I purchased a Tac-Sol scope mount for my Ultra Dot from Midway, and after a little screw fitting problem- it's good and tight and everything is finished. I also have the mag disconnect using Clark Custom Mark ll hammer bushings (#517) in my Mark lll hammer. I can't think of anything else to do to it, other than shoot the heck out of it, but the way the ammo situation is now, it's going to be very sparingly.

You're not kidding, the ammo shelves are bare! Good thing I have a healthy supply. I'd feel more comfortable if they'd start stocking some 22 ammo again.

They sure are bare... Over here the only places that have a decent supply of ammo are the actual gun shops, and they are limiting what you can buy (which I am glad to see). The two gun shops I frequent are limiting people to 2 boxes of ammo per caliber per day, and you can only buy for a maximum of 3 calibers per day. Reloading materials are the same...

This all makes me very sad. I enjoy this sport so much, and this all started happening right when I was getting into the swing of things...

I called the local Wal-Mart the other day and was told they had just received a shipment on ammo. I rushed over and arrived just behind a guy that had just bought 6 CASES of 9mm (not boxes, CASES). He payed for it with a credit card. When he left, I bought two boxes of 9mm and a cube of 22 and was talking to the clerk. He said this guy was also in the day before, and bought 4 CASES of 9mm. Think he was hording or reselling???
Maybe limiting quantities is not so bad...

My Wal-Mart only lets you buy 5 boxes of ammo a day. Still need to be there when it is put on the shelf.

I cannot blame the retail outlet for selling all they can. A sale is a sale. If you sell all the inventory for the marked price then who cares if it is one or a dozen buyers. Everything will sort itself out because if the market keeps running this way, the manufacturers will step up production and the market will correct itself.

I agree with that if it is a large retail outlet as you've mentioned. I have to go to wal-mart once a week regardless of if they have ammo or not.

If it is a specialized store, like a gun shop or hunting store, I think it is in their best interest to limit people. I called one of my local gun shops asking if they had the ammo I was looking for. I was only going to go to the shop if they had that ammo. It turns out they did so I made the trip, in addition to the 2 boxes of ammo I purchased I also bought a kinetic bullet puller, primers, bullets (for reloading) and sight blackener. Because they had the ammo I spent an additional $90. If they had not been limiting what people could purchase they would have never made that money off me. On top of this the next day they sold out of the ammo I purchased the previous day.
