Hi all, I am new to this Forum but have been reading it for some time.
It has been very helpful and the pics on the site are outstanding for help with reassembly, etc. I asked this same question on the Rimfire Forum but did not get a solution.

My Mark III Hunter is about one year old with about 1000 rounds through it.
The problem is that the bolt stop keeps wearing to the point that it will not hold the bolt open after the last shot. I am about to install the third one when the part arrives.
I always use the slingshot method to close the bolt when shooting and I keep the gun clean.
I am hoping someone on this site, maybe Bullseye, could shed some light on what I am doing wrong or how to correct this problem.

Wow, you're asking a lot for a diagnosis of a sight-unseen bolt stop. 1,000 rounds and two worn bolt stops means something is definitely not right. If everything is at face value there is a serious problem with mating surfaces. I don't believe one could wear out two bolt stops in such a small amount of expended ammo, even if you manually released the bolt on each and every round. Perhaps if you could post a pic of the worn bolt stop, I may be able to see something amiss. Other than that I'm reluctant to speculate a cause.

I've gone through 1100 rounds in a single day and haven't even had too terribly much to clean, something's definately wrong if you're having any wear issues at 1000 rounds. Post a few pics, we'll see what we can come up with.

Here is a picture that may help. The one on the left is new and in the picture for comparison.

I can try more tomorrow with day light and get rid of the glare.

BTW, I also have an 18 year old MarkII and there is no wear on the bolt stop.

I can't see anything in that picture. The white background washes out the parts. Reducing washout is one reason why I mostly use green felt as a background in my pictures. I would also like to see a side view of both of these parts.
