Federal Champion Value Pack Hollow Points & MKIII?

Post by CigarSmoker » Tue Mar 03, 2009 6:00 pm

I'm looking at this deal on Cabela's site & was curious if anyone has fired these with their MKIII? It looks like a fairly decent deal, but I hesitate to purchase 2100 rounds of something I've never shot.

Federal Champion Value Pack - 2,100 rounds of ammo and a Dry-Storage Box for $80. 36-gr. copper-plated hollow-point bullets.

I have used the Federal Champion solid lead rounds before in my Hunter with no problems.....

(3 Wal-Marts near here always have virtually nothing to choose from lately!)

The Fed 36gr HP's shoot pretty well in my Rugers. I don't have many failures to fire or any ejection/feed problems. The Wally World boxes of 550 are just under $14/box, so 2200 rounds would be $56.

I think the spread with these is a bit more than the 40gr SV champions, but not bad.

As far as just fun shooting for enjoyment and not getting serious about the name of the ammo, can't beat them Federal Value Packs. It shoots good or better than me and functions fine in all my guns whether rifle or pistol. Rob, hows tthe snow? see it was 12 down south there this morning, not really shorts and tank top weather. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
You have great day and shoot straight and may the Good Lord smile on you.

12 was an all-time record low for 3/3 in this area. Should do another record tonight. Roads are mostly clear, but schools are still closed. For all this suffering it is supposed to be up into the 70's this weekend. Will have to go do some rimfire shooting.

Going to be just a little muddy at the range with all that snow melting quickly, but sounds like a fun trip. Was not a whole lot colder her but here it will be mid 40's Thursday, so will try to get some range time myself. Was looking for 1911's at my local shop for Hakaman and they sure are scarce, guess a lot of handguns are and AR's also. Well the had a Henry H001 in the rack and had decent looking wood so, told Doug would see him later in the week with my check book. Will pick it up Thursday and head to the range to make sure it works properly.

Depends on the gun. They generally shoot well enough that I keep them around. I tend to fall back on 40gr SV ammo, usually Federal.

You should try some of that Fiocchi #22CRN LSP or Eley Sport, man they work wonders in most of my guns. My 10/22T, heavy barrel target guns just shoot CCI Blazer very well and it is not that costly.
