my Mark lll 512 and a Mklll 22/45 when I ran across a troubleshooting article by Bullseye who wrote concerning the 1/16" distance between the rear left lip on the magazine and the bottom of the ejector.
Well I have a total of 8 mags for both guns and every one of them does not have this clearance, in fact they all touch the bottom of the ejector. Bullseye recommends lowering the mags position by removing a little material off of the bottom block of the mag.
By doing this wouldn't the mag, when inserted, go even higher into the chamber and really jam tighter against the ejector?
I haven't been to the range yet so don't know if the spent case will jam on the new round but after reading the troubleshooting article it appeared as if they would. Just trying to take care of problems before they happen.

Removing material off of the bottom of the magazine block is only for a Mark II's with a heel magazine latch. A Mark III pistol may need a little material off of the latching button. http://www.guntalk-online.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18 This will position the mag a little lower because the locking bump will index lower on the latch button. I have seen several latches with some manufacturing flash on top of the mag latch which positions the mag higher.

My first question is - Are you having ejection problems? Some pistols will run just fine with little or no gap. It's when you're having ejection problems that this can be a cause.

Bullseye-I think I may be jumping the gun at this problem, since I haven't shot the gun(s) yet. I'm afraid the more I read the more I get a brain overload of all the info on your board. I really don't want to start grinding on the mags if they don't need it. I do have a VQ extractor installed along with all the other VQ goodies so I hope all is well. Like you said even if the mag lip is up against the ejector, it could be fine, and with my 8 mags in 2 different guns all doing the same thing-maybe that's the way the new ones are coming out now-lets hope--thanks again

Mopac. it ain't broke yet so it don't need fixing. Shoot them a little and see what happens. No sense in doing a lot of work if you really don't need to.
