I just finished installing the "accurizing kit" and put the allen screws in to adjust the pre and post trigger travel. The pretravel a s seems to do the job. Is it me, or is the post travel allen screw not very effective? I have it screwed in til it almost falls out on the other side before it makes contact with the trigger housing when firing. Anybody have some adjusting tips, or whether you have encountered similar issues? The rest of the installation went smooth (considering it's a "Ruger Disassembly/Reassembly" procedure), and the trigger feels great.

Your overtravel screw should not be falling out of the trigger. Were the two screws you got in the VQ kit different lengths? How long is the overtravel screw you have in the trigger?

Thanks Bullseye, I was just going to tell him to go to the nearest Ace Hardware and get a longer setscrew. Variations in guns can make a difference, one that is too long will protrude through the trigger and cause discomfort. I added and overtravel screw to my 10/22's by just drilling and tapping the back of the trigger guard. Did not have to remove the triiger and have problems. I actually prefer the stock trigger on my 22/45's with the pre travel screw added, once adjusted, everything is out of the way.

I don't have my gun handy at the moment, but it seems that the screw could be a 1/16-1/8" longer to do the job properly. I guess I'll have to get a new one. Does anyone know the size on the allen screw, and the thread # ?
I'm guessing the length is 1/4- 5/16''. By the way, the two screws appear to be the same length. The "pre-travel screw fits very nicely, giving enough length to adjust in either direction. But the post-travel screw is adjusted properly now, but looks like it is hanging by a thread before it comes off. One more Q, I am thinking of using super glue or loctite to secure them when I have them adjusted to my liking. Is that what you find best?

Take one to the local Ace Harware and they will help you, they still have helpful hardware people.

Use the blue #242 Locktite thread locking sealant. An alternate could be some ladies fingernail polish as a thread locker. Don't use the Superglue.

Ya know toy, I never try to discard common sense, no matter how obvious it sounds. I wonder how many "stupid" things people do with their guns that they are embarrassed to talk about??? Maybe this could be the start of a new thread. "Dare to tell the most foolish thing you did with a gun".

but IMHO, 'common sense' says to avoid putting anything on the internet
that I don't want "my momma" to know about...

so, well intentioned, legal and safe... I'll keep my stories to myself.
